The Garmin Next Generation GPS Receiver 19x HVS is an updated version of the previous GPS17x HVS antenna. It is NMEA 0183 compatible and can be used with the GPSMAP 4212. However, if the GPSMAP 4212 is being run in a NMEA 2000 configuration, it is recommended that the NMEA 2000 version of the GPS19x should be purchased. The GPS19x HVS comes with wire leads and no connector, but it can be easily turned into an RJ45 connector for the GPS16x. The GPS19x HVS works with the Garmin GSD 24 while networked. It is also compatible with the Garmin Map 64s or 78s. If a customer wants to connect other systems into the unit such as auto-pilot, weather, etc., upgrading to the latest GPS units in the $300 range for a 6" display is advised.
