The Barker Valterra-Bristol Model Auto Drain is an actuator kit that opens and closes the gate valve of black and grey water holding tanks at the touch of a button from inside the RV. The installation is easy but not the easiest for inexperienced users. The electric valve kit does not pump out the tanks but only operates the valve for gravity drainage. The product works great but the wire harness is not long enough for some users. The actuator gear is made of plastic and may not be durable. The product is number 1 in the upgrades list of some motorhome owners and some give rave reviews for the product and the customer service of the company. Some users had to buy new valves because the kit did not work with their Valterra cable pull type gate valves, making installation complicated.
